Moments in time…Signs, Symbols & Angels

Top of the Mornin’ on this beautiful St. Patrick’s Day! It’s on this day I can truly embrace my favorite color Green, and my Irish heritage from the paternal side of my family lineage.

I took my morning walk with Zoey down to the bay to take in the beautiful cool morning and the richness of the sunrise. This spot is truly my favorite part of the park where I live. It reminds me to be grateful every day for the gifts I’ve received especially these last 5 years in Florida.

I am in deep planning and preparation for my retirement trip this coming July 7th. But I truly try and take the time every single day to enjoy all of the moments, surprises and symbols of daily life in my own hood.

Besides this glorious sunrise, Zoey and I are enjoying the cooler air, reflecting on our day, and special surprises that show up daily. This morning we had a chance to witness a true sign of Spring, a Momma Duck (resting just outside one of my neighbors’front door), sitting on her 14 eggs, protecting them with every ounce of her being. It was a beautiful site.

Muscovy ducks are not native to Florida, but somehow they have made their homes here, and they definitely are the majority; at least in our park. In my 5 years of living here, the largest batch of babies was 23 from one nest. Incredible. They are fearless and pretty much let you know they are in charge! LOL!

I have worked hard to prepare for retirement, and I’m enjoying every day preparing for what I consider the trip of a lifetime. One of the things I’ve recognized in aging, is that each day is a gift, and I don’t want fear of the unknown to keep me from experienceing everything I can in the time I have left on this planet.
