Sue & Zoey’s Great Adventure: The Beginning
June 30th is my offical Retirement Date….to say I am excited would be an understatement. For those who don’t know me personally, I am going to start a 4 month driving trip, actually two distinct trips on July 7th, the day before my 69th Birthday.
The first leg of my trip is destination Wabana Lake, MN to meet up with my Sister, Brother-in-Law and family on their beautiful Lake Front compound! I call it a compound, because at times, it has housed over 50 people in various cabins, tents and trailers. It has been in their family for years, but this will be my first year joining them. I’m so excited to enjoy nature, boating, the stunning lake, and family.
My trip will go from Clearwater, FL to New Orleans, to Decatur, GA, to Knoxsville, TN to Nashville, TN, to Bellville, IL…and finally to Wabana Lake MN, via Wisconson for a brief overnight. The weeks of travel to visit friends, explore a few new areas, and leisurely meander through the states with no worries on how much time I have off. This will definitely be a first. My little one Zoey is joining me, and we are planning on lots of adventures and connections to special people in our life.
My second wave of the trip will start once I leave Wabana Lake and Family. I will begin doing alot more camping at this particular time, and from MN will explore some beautiful areas in Wisconsin, back to Iowa and back into Illinois, and then from there head across Michigan, into Canada and time at Niagara Falls on the Canadian side, back down into upper state New York across Vermont, and New Hampshire heading to Bangor, Maine to meet up with a friend, just in time to enjoy all of the stunning colors of Fall on the East Coast. Depending on her schedule, we will meander our way in and around Maine, down through Provincetown, MA, and then proceed to travel the East Coast exploring as many states and beautiful sites as we can find all the way down to Savannah, GA, and then into St. Augustine, FL and then back to my home in Clearwater, FL.
I am going to be using my website to start a blog on all of my adventures, and try to carry you all with me. If I can figure out the logistics of new posts, I will try to blog every couple of days to give you an update on our adventures. I have spent months preparing for this great adventure. Buying camping equipment, plotting out the routes, researching fun places I’ve never been, it’s truly been one of my greatest joys! I am excited to share it with you! And as always Thank you for your Love and Support! #ilovemothernature #gratefuleveryday #soulinspiredphotography #sueandzoeysgreatadventure #retirement2023
